Welcome to the website of Christian Fischer-Thöne
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics and work in the fields of International Trade and Industrial Organization. My research aims to improve our understanding of the nature and consequences of globalization. I investigate the sourcing and export decisions of firms, and the organization of production across borders. I study task offshoring, related political economy questions and their implications for the global integration of markets.
My teaching adds to the department's curriculum in International Economics and is particularly relevant for Bachelor and Master students who wish to specialize in this field. You can find more information on the courses that I offer on this website.
